Simon Raymonde

Simon Raymonde was bass player for the massively influential Cocteau Twins between 1984 and the band’s dissolution in 1997. Thereafter, he founded one of our favourite record labels, Bella Union….responsible for bringing us John Grant, Fleet Foxes, Flaming Lips, M. Ward, Father John Misty, Ezra Furman, Beach House, Vetiver, The Low Anthem….and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! He is also a producer, remixer, raconteur and all round music industry good guy.

Simon dazzled us with amazing, warm, human tales of how he signed Fleet Foxes, the politics of band relations and the precarious nature of running his amazing label, Bella Union.

If you want to understand why he is one of the most loved label bosses in the world, watch the film link above. Thank you Simon xo
